Death by Moe

Considering my age and how poor I am, Otakuthon is the only anime convention that’s possible for me to attend. It was my first con and I have to say I had a lot of fun. My friend and I went there at around 1 o’ clock and spent about four hours in the Dealer’s room. Tired and out of money, we didn’t check out anything else sadly. To be honest, I was surprised at how much people were there and how much cosplay there was. There was a lot of Naruto, Kingdom Hearts and Death Note … and an abnormal amount of Chiis and, of course, Haruhis. I didn’t take any pictures since I forgot my damned camera at home but still. It’d be hard to pick what my favorite cosplay was but I really liked that Ryuk cosplayer. There were a few disturbing ones namely a male Chibi-usa … but I was much less disturbed than my friend who was “O_O” for a long time … I just laughed. Another thing I remember seeing was the Natsuo-Youji pair and the girl with a “I bought Sasuke’s virginity for 50$” sign.

I only had around 50$ with me (Well, 70$ before registration) so I wasn’t able to buy anything fancy. I spent the most of my money on the “Got Yaoi” hat which I couldn’t resist buying and the rest went to art. There was a lot of beautiful art and I’m kinda regretting not commissioning a Lulu -sniff- … But it was my first time so I guess you could say I was little nervous/shy if that makes any sense at all. I really wanted to buy that Haruhi doujin and a Death Note bag but … ugh, I hate reminding myself how poor I am. Aside my hat, my favorite things are the Lamento bookmark, the pins (Lulu, C.C. and Kamina) and the DNAngel print .. which I stared at for half an hour before forcing myself to buy it. Times like that, I really wish I were Madarame.

As I said, we spent too much time in the dealer’s room so we didn’t see anything else but we did manage to see some Cosplay fight which was entertaining. A little girl kept on attacking the opposing team and another guy in a Phoenix Wright cosplay showed up saying “OBJECTION!” … and while we were going down the escalator, there was a Caramelldansen attack! =D

Well that’s it. I’m sad that we didn’t get to visit much of the con but I’ll know next year. Now to weep about how poor I’ll be after I spend what money I have left on Breaking Dawn. -sobs-

(On a much happier note, I’m extremely EXTREMELY happy about this. I knew fooling myself into not caring about Junjo would bring me more of it. Banzai reverse psychology! If it starts airing in October then does that mean I can expect a certain X-mas arc to be animated? -crosses fingers- That aside, looks like I’ll be going to Kingston to visit my Aunt after all. Banzai! Basically, I’m off to have a life again next weekend)
