Death by Moe

This episode is officially my favorite episode since the Minimum episode back in the first season and is by far my favorite episode of the second season. The execution was beautiful and Misaki was just plain funny this episode. For once, I’m not complaining we got only one episode of Egoist before getting back to Romantica. The main reason is that we got some real progress on Misaki’s and Usagi’s relationship this time around. The next event to look forward to is Misaki’s attempt at a confession.

As everyone by now should know, this week’s episode is the famed Sumi arc in which Usagi almost gets topped. As far as I know, Sumi doesn’t get any spotlight after this one arc. Sometimes I wonder if Sumi really does like Usagi or if he put the moves on him purposely to make Misaki’s and Usagi’s relationship move on. Or maybe it’s both?

Usagi-ani has a five second appearance to throw Misaki off a little. Misaki hun, this is supposed to be telling that Sumi liking you isn’t so impossible after all.

Between Usagi-uke and Misaki’s imagination, I can’t remember which one really was my favorite. I don’t remember Misaki doing the whole résume of the Haruhiko arc in his mind like “Sutaato, Goooru!” in the Drama CD so that was entertaining. But Usagi nearly getting topped was priceless too. Especially since it led to Misaki saying “USAGI IS MINE!”

Now the bad of the episode? I guess it was the over-dramatic angst at the end. I’m always a little taken aback whenever some angst shows up in Romantica but I know where this is going so it doesn’t bother me as much. Usagi’s just being cute. Haha ~

Misaki’s hairdo = +100 points! Plus the bear costume? +50. Poor Usagi, I bet he would’ve raped Misaki on the spot for wearing such a thing! No wait! This situation would’ve been even greater if Sumi’s club were running a café. Misaki as a waitress! Misaki as a waitress! Misaki as a waitress!

So close Sumi. So close.

Dokkun, dokkun, dokkun

I was expecting since the start so instead of going “GASP! HE SAID IT” I went, “Ah, finally ~” with the “Tea is very good” face. Now when he get to Misaki’s confession attempt number one, it’ll “dokkun, dokkun, dokkun” all over again.

Some Good news? More Egoist next week! But, I think all my favorite Egoist arcs have been animated already so I’m not so sure what’s left to show. Can’t we get another Terrorist episode soon? Shinobu doesn’t get enough love. At least Miyagi’s got cameos, Shinobu doesn’t have any!

Anyways, the epilogue this week was Misaki’s late realization that Usagi would be uke to Sumi. That realization never gets old.

In other notes, I’m sticking by my theory that this season will end with Misaki’s real confession to Usagi. If you count the episodes properly, the last episode will end up near christmas and if I remember correctly, Misaki does confess to Usagi after or during the christmas arc. I haven’t read the manga in a while so I don’t remember. Ah, just thinking about it makes me wanna fangirl. I do hope Terrorist will get some love before that. It’d suck if they only got an episode.
