Review:

Damn, I think I listened to this one about three times and I still love it. I’m probably cursed to like all of Sunahara Touko’s works or something. It’s like I’m repeating my Kotonoha no Hana experience … in that I listened to this Drama three times in the same week.

The story is super simple, but the characters are so lovable. Chino is the cutest uke I’ve seen in a while. He’s a total otome and his weak and awkward speech pattern is super adorable. Despite his status, Chino has absolutely no confidence in himself and is totally innocent. There’s a scene where he’s talking with Tomo-chan who asks him “Well, if you two start dating, what’ll you do? Dates? Kiss? Then have sex?” Chino reveals that he never even thought of having sex with him. Super innocent. Super cute. I think I’m going to die just thinking about it.

I think the best part about this is that Chino’s voice by Non-tan. When’s the last time I heard him out of a tsundere role? There’s a part in the drama where Chino makes a burger bento for Arisaka. You know what I ended up thinking about? Arthur making Alfred a burger then getting depressed that Alfred didn’t want it. Oh dear.

Arisaka is … well … nothing sepcial. He’s totally honest his feelings though, so I’ll give him props for that. Being voiced by Wacchan is a definite plus. Anyways, Sunohara Touko’s works tend to give the uke more spotlight so the seme ends up being typical. Better than others, but still typical.

Though, despite Chino’s cuteness, Tomo-chan’s my favorite character. He’s the best shinyuu character ever. He has a bad-mouth, is super blunt and is really straight-forward. But, he’s extremely considerate and cares a lot for Chino under all that rebellious attitude. Hell, there’s a scene where Tomo-chan confesses to Chino and kisses him despite not actually liking Chino in that way all for Chino’s sake.

Despite all the really awesome scenes in the drama, my favorite scene was when Tomo-chan went to face Arisaka concerning Chino. Tomo tells Arisaka that he cares for Chino enough that he wouldn’t mind taking care of him for the rest of his life and he says a bunch of other pretty hateful stuff just to get Arisaka all worked up.

In the end, it’s all because of Tomo-chan that Arisaka and Chino are even together. Tomo-chan win!

Overall:

Super cute drama. There’s nothing too complicated about it and the characters are all so great. Man I love Tomo-chan. Plus, is there a reason not to listen to a drama featuring Non-tan? There’s only one h scene, but I honestly have nothing to say about it. I loved the overall drama so much. I have no reason not to recommend this one.
