I almost cried. This was the most beautifully excecuted arc in CLANNAD ever and I’m not just saying this because of the Tomoya and Sunohara eye candy. It had the most hilarious jokes and gags ever but it was also the most dramatic arc. The whole story with Mei and Youhei being one misunderstanding after an another was just so sad and ironic. I absolutely loved how it just bounced back and forth. Though, more than the sibling relationship, I think this arc really showed how strong the friendship between Sunohara and Tomoya is. From the fight scene to the end of the episode I was completely moved. I was gasping, squealing and all around dying inside. Okay, so that was part fangirling but I still couldn’t help but think ‘Damn, this was a beautiful arc’
Moe … overload -dies-
So, Tomoya and Sunohara are busy being pissed off at each other. Mei comes up with the idea of trying to get her Onii-chan back in the soccer club. Of course, we know it won’t work out but watching Mei so determined was … heart-breaking. Well, I knew Sunohara would come through in the end!
You know what else was heart-breaking? Sunohara. No seriously; the soccer club treating him like shit was horrible. They abused him. And damn it was sad because he looked so innocent and naive back then. Stupid stupid soccer club! But I have to thank them somewhat … you know … if it weren’t for that then Sunohara and Tomoya would’ve never met. We can’t have that can we?
(I wonder … what kind of fight did Tomoya get into? Or was that a meaningless question?)
The way things are going. It seems like KyoAni plans on animating the side arcs. From the preview, it seems like Misae’s next and since they’re building up on Yukine, looks like they’ll animate her arc as well. And to be honest, her arc’s the one I liked the least. The story itself is great but the game made it way too long. Hopefully KyoAni will make it shorter. I’ll probably like it then.
And this is where my heart really started dying. Of course, at this point, I knew Sunohara was bound to show up saying “I WON’T FORGIVE ANYONE WHO MAKES MEI CRY!” Still, knowing doesn’t change the fact it had so much impact.
(Impact must my favorite word at the moment or something …)
I lost count of how many screenshots I tookduring this scene. I wanted to cry, laugh, fangirl all at once. It was sad. It had impact. It had slash. I wanted to giggle. They were being idiots. I wanted to laugh. It’s raining hard outside at the moment so I thought this fit.
And because I promised I’d try to talk about the girls more; here’s Nagisa and Mei. Well, I’m happy they just watched as the fight went on but it was sort of pathetic. Then again, it’d take a lot of the drama out if they did something. So, yeah … what the hell was I complaining about?
Words cannot describe how great this scene was. Words weren’t even needed to make this scene happen. It was just … beautiful. They didn’t even need to apologize or say anything. They just laugh and everything was forgiven. Honestly, this is friendship … and friendship like this is hard to find.
No. There is no particular reason behind this screenshot. I swear.
(Well hey, what do you expect from a fangirl? I squealed so much at the sight of Tomoya smiling at Sunohara lying down on his bed. Nope, nope. I didn’t mean anything by that statement)
Tomoya has that “I don’t believe you” look. We’re back to everyday Sunohara and Tomoya. Honestly, this was such a great arc. This how you blend in comedy with drama without the viewer noticing. This is how you make a completely stupid character take on a more serious persona without anyone saying “WTF? OOC?” … KyoAni keep up the good work.
I really really loved the flashback scene … because it was well-placed. I don’t think the anime used much flashbacks so it felt sort of odd but it was great. I forgot the above ever even happened. Gods, I really do love these two. It makes me sad how they’re isn’t a very big fanbase for these two. Oh sure, it’s sort of a good thing since there are no annoying fangirls but the lack of fanart and doujins make me sad. Hell, I’ve never seen a TomoyaxSunohara doujin. If you find one, inform me … please.
Banzai! Repeat; Banzai. I absolutely loved Misae’s arc. Unlike most of the arcs in CLANNAD (Dozo! Have a Starfish aside!), Misae’s had the small touch of fantasy that I sort of like from Key games. Since there are some (or most?) who don’t know her story, I won’t say anything. … Well, I won’t say much.
BUT I WILL SAY; I can’t wait to see Shima. He wasn’t seen at all in the game so I’m looking forward to seeing how he looks like. Of course, I sort of believe he’ll look like your typical cute kid (Makoto from Minami-ke ish?). Doesn’t change how much I love Shima though. I’m praying, for my fangirl self, that they’ll animated the cross-dressing scene. Please!
