Grell, because he’s my character of the week ~
As I said many many posts ago, I’m taking a nice long break from anime blogging. But I’m not just going to let this blog die so, uh, I thought up these W.I post. My Weekly Impressions posts are basically going to be about whatever I watched, read or heard about during said week. Maybe I’ll write about certain anime I watched or maybe I’ll rant about what game I played or even about what new VOCALOID song I got addicted to. A bunch of stuff really.
This way I don’t have to stress about my posts. I’ll put whatever I want in these W.I posts. By Spring, I’ll probably find the motivation to blog at least one anime. Erm, hopefully.
Gankutsuou – The Count of Monte Cristo episode 01

THE SHINE! IT BURNS!
Yeah. And people say Shaft animation can give seizures. Gankutsuou is beyond shiny. It’s blinding. Not sure I like pretty effects to that extent but by the end of episode one, I got used to it. Okay, so why am I watching this? Because I borrowed the book (by Alexandre Dumas) from the school library but I can’t bring myself to read it past 50 fifty pages. I was told the beginning was boring but still. Anyways, I’ve decided to watch the anime as some sort of motivation. But it’s GONZO we’re talking about here so … I’m not sure this is going to encourage me or not.

Come over to 'this' side, Albert. I'll treat you well.
Still, the first episode was pretty awesome. I like pretty effects and weird animation styles. Fukuyama Jun and Hirakawa Daisuke’s presence are great pluses. Too bad I don’t know who the hell Albert and Franz is because they don’t show up in what I read. Count Monte Cristo is … freakish. He looks like Dracula. And he’s freaky. I know the story’s about his revenge and all that but, as I said, I only read up to the point where people are planning something against Dantès who’s still happy-go-lucky and cute.

:le ultimate gasp:
The first scene aside with all its blinding colors, I really liked the card-picking scene. Wow. I mean, there’s so much drama and suspense there for … well, I’m not sure why. But then there’s sudden cut to Monte Cristo fencing with some guy and talking about revonge! as Sunohara would say it. And even more suddenly, Albert and ??? girl in alley about to have some smex when OH NOES she has gun!
Man, I love things that make absolutely no sense at all. Like Baccano! but I don’t think Gankutsuou’s going to be better than Baccano!

*blushblush*
Last thing; I love my blushing men. Okay yeah, maybe Albert find Monte Cristo fascinating or something. But he blushed. Oh my God, you just don’t do that to my heart! I think I’m going to like Albert.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trial and Tribulations
Ouf, this is the last game of Phoenix Wright I have yet to played. I played all the cases in the first except the last. I completed the second game and I already played Apollo Justice. I’ve got two more cases left in Trial and Tribulations. Well, I didn’t play through the whole MaskDeMasque case but I know the outcome and gave up. I’m half-way through done with the fourth case; Mia’s and Edgeworth’s first case, that is. Damn, Edgeworth’s adorable. I squeal so much about him that the game doesn’t move on. And that Dahlia/Melissa/whatever her name is girl is really getting on my nerves. I can’t stand her type of character. Just, ugh. Plus, I know she shows up in the game’s last case with another name. Damnit, can she STOP changing identities? Talk about annoying!
And did I mention how hard it is to get through this game without a walkthrough? I think I consulted one at least once for each case. Yeah, they weren’t kidding when they said this is the hardest game of the series. Sounds like the last case is even harder than the rest. I hope I survive.
Anyways, I never really talk about this game before so I figured I should take the opportunity and rant about it for a while. I mean, Phoenix Wright’s one of the main reasons I went and got myself a DS. I really love this game.
My new banner (okay, so it’s been a week since I changed it) gives my respects to him. Nick is so versatile. Throughout the series he’s your normal straight man. In the past, he was an adorable/useless type and in Apollo Justice (the future!) he’s sexy and mysterious. PLUS, he’s got a partner to slash him with. I mean, he did say he became a Defense Attorney because of Edgeworth amongst other things. You don’t get very close to BL in DS games out of Phoenix Wright.

Character of the Week; Grell from Kuroshitsuji

"I want to give birth to your babies!"
I finally decided to catch up to the many many Kuroshitsuji episodes I missed. I just watched the episode with Grell almost being done in by Sebastian. Thank you dude voiced by Non-tan. I seriously love this guy. He’s all in red. He’s a megane bishie. He’s voiced by Fukuyama Jun. And gods, I love how JunJun’s voicing this guy. I think I can convince myself it’s a woman. Really. I’m so happy he wasn’t killed. I was actually scared for a second because they killed of Madam Red. That was sad. I loved the whole funeral thing by the way.
(It was a JunJun infested week what with Gankutsuou and me re-watching Code Geass for the fun of it)

Song and Video of the Week
Koi no Vacance sang by Gakupo and KAITO
I don’t know why. I just seriously love this song. The lyrics, the beat. It’s just so addicting. By three listens, I knew the lyrics and now I can’t help but sing listening to it. The original is also so very cute. I don’t really know the artists though. Ah ~ Anyways, I’ve actually been in love with this song for like … three weeks now. I can’t believe I still love it.

I’ll be back on the 10th ~
I really hope you continue to watch Gankutsuou. I’m very picky and harsh with ratings and not many anime can satisfy my needs, but Gankutsuou was perfect for me in every way. Unique, brilliant music, a good steady flow, great characters, good seiyuus, and the story just blew me away. Different, but nice. Also had some nice BL hints. So yeah. A big win for me. Haha.
Gankutsuou will always be my favorite anime ever<3
