I’ve got an unbelievably good tolerance for things that most people say absolutely suck and a horribly bad tolerance for things most people say is epic. Of course, I try to make exceptions the exceptionally good stuff … but I always watch those months after everyone’s over it. (Like Gurren Lagann for example.)
That said, I actually liked the first episode of Umineko.
Umineko is the only summer anime I actually put on tab purely because I wanted something creepy to watch. I don’t know anything about the plot because I didn’t bother checking out the VN or the manga. It’s the first time in a while that I’m watching something without any prior knowledge to it. ( The only thing I knew was that Shikata Akiko was singing OP. I love her, so that’s a plus.)
Besides the bombardment of character introductions and Maria, I enjoyed the first episode. Well actually, the beginning felt rushed, but after things got a little eerie, I started enjoying myself. The plot sort of reminds me of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None … because I get the feeling people are going to start dying one by one according to that epitaph. As for the Battler’s giant eyes, uh … ehn
(One thing that bothered me was how the feather on the character’s clothing would mysteriously appear and disappear during the episode. Tsk, tsk, tsk!)
Anyways, I’m going to bail on trying to blog this because I’m actually a scaredy cat. I don’t think it’ll be long before I find myself unable to watch Umineko alone.
(As much as I want Maria dead, I get this feeling she won’t die so soon. Ugh.)
I willl find this anime now… the picture above is scary…
There have been more skilled boob conoisseurs.
lol. I’m afraid of having to sit through similar things that I had to sit through with Higurashi, but then again, they’re made by the same company. =.=
