About this Blog:

This blog has been around long enough for me to not remember how many times I’ve re-written this page.

In a nutshell, this blog was created in February 11th 2008 after I decided I didn’t want to stick around on my old one anymore. I wanted a more personal blog and so, I created Death by Moe; which is actually a sequence of words I robbed off of Konata’s (Lucky Star) father in episode so-and-so. But of course, I derailed from my original intention and this place became another target of my never-ending nonsensical rants.

Now, two months ago, in April ’09, I had decided to take a nice long hiatus to focus on my studies. It was all fine and dandy while the exams were pouring in like mad but, when I stop to think, I remember this blog and weep. In the end, I came back after a mere two month hiatus because Death by Moe is my beloved lovechild and I can’t ignore it.

And if it isn’t obvious enough, this is mainly an anime blog in which I rant about absolutely anything I want. Also, because I am 99% BL lover, I’ve got the incurable habit of wanting to spread that love to the world.

I listen to Drama CDs as much as I watch anime. That said, welcome to Death by Moe.

I’m Saimai. Or so I’d like to call myself. I’m French Canadian born from Filipino parents. I’ve been around the online anisphere long enough that I feel like an old woman despite barely being 16. Yes, you read that right.

I’ve been an anime fan since Pokemon arrived to America, but saying that is cheating considering I didn’t know Pokemon was Japanese. My real start was with Inuyasha back in 2002.

My tastes in anime tend to vary considering how I will enjoy absolutely anything if the characters are awesome. Now, don’t ask me to define awesome because awesome is what’s awesome to me. I will admit to having a soft spot for original concepts, slice-of-life and/or anything satire or parody-like. Though, saying this makes me sound tame so let me add that I enjoy blood and gore just as much as I enjoy cute moe things. Oh and, I love moe. (I thought the blog name made it obvious, but oh well!)

I love BL with a passion, but I’ve got quite some fanboy-like tendencies in the sense that I sometimes occasionally want to marry certain female characters. But hey, I want to steal and rape a few male characters as well … so that’s fair, right? Moving on …

One last thing, I love male seiyuu. I worship them like I worship whoever made ice cream. It’s really just a warning, but I tend to talk about seiyuu and just calling them by their nicknames. I try to link them, but I forget. Watch out.
