Christmas Loot [orz, became a Manga Rant]

Aah ~ I’m broke again.

Christmas has passed and so has half of my vacation. I’ve already spent every cent I’ve received for the holidays. I’m not sure whether I regret it or not. I don’t think I do. I’m actually quite happy. I probably won’t be later on though. But for the moment, I’ll enjoy my state of bliss.

(Much to my surprise, my dad bought me a frikken flatscreen for x-mas. I never expected that, considering how he’s the one complaining about the bills all the time. And yes, I’m enjoying my newfound space amd 22 inch goodness)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

As you most probably noticed, I haven’t been around lately. Hm, yeah. I left on a semi-hiatus with no note. Woups. But today’s Christmas Eve and here’s a pre-written post to celebrate! I’m writing this on the 23rd. I’m not so busy yet, but by the time this gets out; my relatives will be here, I’ll be out shopping and being busy. Sigh. This is mostly likely to remain the case until after New Years. I’ll be back then. So much for “A.A” and “12 moments in Anime” I’d write them up now (as in the 23rd) but I’ve got gifts to finish. I wouldn’t be written this but I’d feel bad to just, uh, leave and vanish. Anyways. Voila. With that, I’m off to enjoy the cold. If that is even possible.

A.A 2008 Day Six; Male Seiyuu award

because I lack picture of the seiyuu himself -fails-

I’m not even going to bother thinking about who to give this to. Kamiya Hiroshi gets all my love. I only started really liking him this year so I think it’s appropriate. I already explained it in the post I linked to but I repeat it in a nutshell. I acknowledged Kamiya’s existence during his role as Tieria in Gundam 00 after realizing he also voiced Omi in the drama CD series called “Shinayaka na Netsujou”.

Kamiya voiced a lot of characters I liked and starred in a bunch of Drama CDs I also really loved this year. From anime, there’s Michel (MacrossF), Natsume (Natsume Yuujin-Cho) and Tieria (Gundam 00) that I love a bunch. I’ll nevers stopped squealing at the sound of this voice. It makes me melt for various different reasons. If Kamiya’s in it, I’ll watch it (or listen to it, if it’s a Drama CD). No question about it. None. Zero. Nada. I’m that biased when it comes to Kamiya.

A.A 2008 Day Five; Most Under-Appreciated Character

and the award goes to Shinobu from Junjo Romantica (Terrorist)

I’m repeating myself but …. Terrorist doesn’t get enough love. But what I really mean is that Shinobu doesn’t get enough love. -sobs- And thus I give the ‘most under-appreciated character’ of the year award. Hiroki’s an emo drama queen. Misaki’s in denial. Nowaki’s … euh … too good for Hiroki. Miyagi’s, um, old. And Usagi’s the world’s number one perverted gay novelist. You don’t hear much about Shinobu other than he’s an odd one. I don’t get it. I think he’s such a great character and yet I always see him get ignored. Unlike the other two ukes, Shinobu isn’t so pathetic. In both Romantica and Egoist, it’s the seme that makes the moves whilst in Terrorist it’s more or less balanced. Okay, so sure, Terrorist is a tad disturbing because Miyagi’s 17 years older than Shinobu and Shinobu’s his ex-brother in law … but still. (I’m willing to bet this is mostly due to the fact Shinobu doesn’t show up until later in the series)

Why am I giving out this award? Because I’m frustrated about the lack of Terrorist episodes in the anime. There’s two episodes left. I’ll get to blogging what I didn’t blog soon enough. Deal.

Honorable Mention: Luke from Tales of the Abyss

(Most disliked him because he’s such an immature, childish, self-centered ass until episode, what, nine? But I liked him (and I still like him) from the beginning … I won’t get to rant about that here though. Perhaps another time.)

A.A 2008 Day Four; the Mister Blue Haired award

This is the most pathetic award name I’ll ever come up with. I just wanted an excuse to give a certain blue-haired character an award. I think the name of the award pretty much speaks for itself so I won’t bother explaining much. It’s basically a prize going to my favorite blue-haired character of the year. Why blue and not another color? That’s because I noticed how much blue-haired characters we had this year.

(And no, it’s not Kaito. Though, it might’ve been)

A.A 2008 Day Three; Mascot Award

With no build-up whatsoever, I announce that the best Mascot award for the year 2008 goes to none other than Nyanko-sensei from Natsume Yuujin-Cho! This is probably the easiest award I’ll give out. I saved myself a couple of easy awards for when I’m too lazy to do something elaborate. And so yes, Nyanko-sensei deserves this award for the simple reason that he’s the coolest fat cat mascot I’ve ever known since ever. Cheers to repetition!

(Okay, so this is mostly because Inoue Kazuhiko’s portrayal of Nyanko-sensei was too awesome and hilarious to ignore. It’s bound to be something I’ll remember for a long time)
