Happy New Year! It’s 2009!

Cheers to a great year. 2008 was a good one. After the dark ages that was, for me, 2007, this year was relieving. I had loads of fun and plenty happened to keep me busy. Well, most of the time I guess. I had my dose of boredom this year as well. And boy, I suck. This is my third filler post in a row isn’t it? Forgive me. Okay, maybe not. I’m just making a fuss. So anyways, I was watching Monokuro and the realization hit me. Both figuratively and literally (I should stop keeping manga in strange places, my room’s raining them). So anyways, I just went “Is it me? Or are men in anime starting to lose interest in women?” Well, at the very least, all male characters (with the exception of Toudou maybe) in Geass have already lost interest in the opposite sex. Just look at Lulu! He just lost Shirley and they let Orange-kun in. What’s his harem now? 3 women, 5 men? Or are there more I’m just forgetting? Not to mention Shirley’s death is going to be cause of the Black Knight’s downfall with Lulu going all mental and losing what little sanity he had left. Although, Suzaku isn’t any better. Kallen’s looking good in that dress at least but let’s pray she doesn’t mental too after taking the drug. It’s GSD all over again. Come on Sunrise! You can do better than that right – Oh crap, right this wasn’t a Geass post.

I mean just look at Monokuro. There are girls in them but their basically decorations. Nabari? Not a single male character in there looks like they have potential interest in females. Kumohira-sensei doesn’t count because has a wife and is only interested in her … and other than her there’s Miharu. Oh wait! There’s hope. We’ve still got Macross! Alto’s straight right? As long as Sunrise stays away from them, we’ll get a normal ending with either Sheryl or Ranka. God knows how much I don’t want to see a AltoxLuca or MikhailxAlto ending … out of doujins at least. And oh look! More hope. Toki in Amatsuki potentially likes Kuchiha right?

Alright … maybe this isn’t so hopeless after all. Back to Balett Star.

Treasures from my Two Weeks of Heat

The anime store in Chinatown updated itself. Too bad I only had money for new posters … I was going to get another Ouran but I decided to get TTGL since I couldn’t afford the soundtrack. I’m just praying it’ll still be there when I come back with the money. God knows how much I want that soundtrack. But I probably won’t be getting it soon since I’m saving for Otakuthon … which is the only con my sad 15-year old self can attend.

A Break Through?

Just finished writing chapter five of what’s supposed to be the final version of Dark Crimson. Yes, yes. I have written many previous posts on my progress but those were all prototypes and experiments and it looks like the final version is COMPLETELY different from what DC was at the start at its birth. You know your tastes has changed greatly when you go from innocent not-BL epic story to tragic but beautiful angsty BL. Anyways, I’m at nearly 30 pages into it and I’m not slowing down. I’m on fire! MOERUZEEE! The story and many details aren’t clear in my head but I learned that giving meaning and details to everything isn’t a very good idea.

No! I have NOT failed for … -counts- eight months, I just one-hundred and eight ways to NOT write a novel. Yep, that’s progress I tell you. (I’m pretty sure I just quoted someone from American history … who it is though I’m not sure)

My deadline to finish DC for July 29th has not changed. I still plan on making it and if I keep this pace up I’ll be done in no time whatsoever. I’m just hoping all my hype won’t make my creativity go away because I’m a real roll this time. It kinda scares me how Scythe got to kiss Kira already in just five chapters and under thirty pages. Hopefully my pace isn’t too quick. Ugh, I really need a beta reader.

So that aside, there are about 15 days of school left. Here I thought I’d get through the rest of the year without problems and I land myself in detention the second after having that thought. Irony? NO A CONSPIRACY! I kind of forgot to set my alarm this morning and ended up skipping first period. Frikken lady, being the crap she is, gave me two frikken detentions for it. Bitch. One on thursday and one next week so it seems. Luckily school finishes at 2:20 and detentions are just half an hour I think … so that isn’t so bad. The thought of 15 days is the only thing keeping me going honestly. I’m glad I’m going back to my old school next year … really. If not for that thought I’d be dead right now.
