Spring Preview: Part 3.5 – Almost Done

I’m FINALLY almost done previewing everything I want to preview. I haven’t had this much anime too watch since last spring (spring fever?!) but knowing me, it’ll die down after a few more weeks. Since I’m watching quite a number this season I’m probably going to blog about 2-3 shows every week.

I know that probably know one else out there is going to blog Junjo Romantica all the way but I sure am. With what’s out so far, the drama CD still reigns king in my heart and that probably won’t change but I’m looking forward to how the anime will progress. With the next episode airing tomorrow I’m definitely a little on edge right now … the biggest reason being how incredibly attractive Sumi-senpai looks compared to the manga (his design reminding me slightly of characters from Ryo Takagi‘s work). In other news, I managed to get my hands on the manga and read it up to volume five. It was fun reading it since it made recall lines from the CD that I loved … matching the lines to the art was awesome. I also realized how cute the 2nd couple “Junjo Egoist” Kusama Nowaki and Kamijo Hiroki are! I honestly can’t wait to see their stories get animated. Unlike the romantica couple (Misaki and Usagi), the egoist couple has a real sweet story (therein the drama that characterized what is yaoi)  … I’ve talked too much onto the next anime …

The second show I’ll be blogging every week is (as if you didn’t see this coming) Code Geass R2. I know I didn’t put screens on the second episode but I’ll be sure to put some in the upcoming episodes. I think everyone’s heard already but the final 6 minutes of episode 3 has been leaked on youtube yesterday It seems that is was a mistake on someone from Bandai Channel … but that isn’t the part that really matters. I’m just real relieved there’s no delay. I would have died without my geass this weekend. (Not that it matters either but I DID see the leak … harhar, I’m a killjoy to myself) That said w00t for Geass!

SHOWS I AM BLOGGING: Code Geass R2 and Junjo Romantica

Those two aside there are a few more that I’m following this season.

The first being Soul Eater. A friend first introduced me to the manga more than half a year ago but I hadn’t read further than the introduction chapters. Hell, even now I’m not far into the manga (stopped after Black Star and Soul’s dramatic break-up scene) still … after the first episode, I have no doubts that the anime will be just as good as the manga. The animation, music and everything is beautiful. For the moment, my only complaint is Maka’s voice … as I said in my preview of it, I hope it’ll grow on me.

Second is Nabari no Ou. A ninja NOT in an orange jumpsuit? Count me in. I loved the first six chapters of the manga I read. There’s a kind and his harem. Kyo Kara Maoh deja vus + Ninja + darker mood – Naruto = Nabari no Ou. Perfect equation. Probably the anime I’ll find the most slash in this season. Kumohira’s vow to protect Miichan with his life almost topping Tieria copying Lockon’s haircut. I take that back. Tieria copying Lockon’s haircut can’t be beaten that easily. (Which reminds me of how Zack “kinda” copied Angeal’s cut in Crisis Core) I’m still not really happy with KugiRie voicing Mii-chan but she’s doing a good job so not much complaints from me. I’ll probably enjoy blogging this because of the slash alerts so I expect myself to blog this once in a while too.

Third and fourth is Special A and Vampire Knight. My two shoujo intakes for this season. I enjoyed both mangas (though I haven’t read far) and was excited when the anime was announced. The fact the GONZO is animating Special A still scares me (even tho’ the first episode wasn’t that bad) but hopefully it won’t downhill that fast. Vampire Knight … being a vampire show … calls for angst and blood obviously. I highly doubt both anime with be as good as the manga but hey, at least it’ll give me something to rant about (other than FukuJun using his Lulu voice on Kei-chan).

Fifth, sixth and seventh are Macross Frontier, Wagaya no Oinari-sama and The Tower of DRUAGA. The only reason I can explain why I’m watching Macross is well, because of Yuutan. I’ve heard a lot of talk about Macross but I’m not a big mecha fan so I never really bothered with it. Upon hearing Yuutan’s name I immediately went to download it. I’m such a fangirl, I know. Wagaya no Oinari-sama is on my watch list for the same reason; Nakamura Yuuichi. I have to say that enjoyed Oinari more than Macross (genderbending 4tw). Lastly DRUAGA. I’m sure I went and watched this because it was one of the first spring anime to be subbed … I enjoyed it so it’s on my watchlist now (Sakupyon and Ishida-sama being in this is a big plus)

Under all those previews, there are two that didn’t manage to hook me in; Allison to Lillia and Itazura na Kiss. Both are great anime but there just not my type of thing. I’m not particularly fond of adventure type anime or of typical romance shoujo … so these two are definitely out. These are probably the leftover anime I’ll watch whenever I’m left with nothing much to watch (a.k.a Summer Vacation Anime)

Now for the remaining spring anime I have yet to preview: Kure-Nai (whose space is part two remains empty) Amatsuki and Neo Angelique. WTF?! to angelique indeed. I’ll be honest in saying that I’m only watching it for the hot bishies and attractive seiyuu cast. Really? Is there any other reason for a girl to watch a reverse harem anime? Nope, nope. NONE!

As for Amatsuki … the only reason it’s on this list is the extremely attractive seiyuu cast -spies FukuJun and Yusa-

Lastly Kure-nai … well, I’m not sure why I decided to preview it but it’s on the list.

Code Geass R2 – 02

Code Geass r2 – 02

Having watched this episode on my iPod, I don’t have screens at the moment. Knowing myself, I probably won’t come back to this post to put screens.

The excitement has cooled down a bit so I’m less “kya kya” over geass now. Which is good because everyone around me is tired of my squeeing.

Episode Two in a Nutshell:

We finally find out what happened on Kaminejima. Basically, Suzaku and Lulu shot each other and they both missed. Kallen runs away allowing Suzaku to capture Lulu and bring him to the Emperor (whose seiyuu, Wakamoto Norio never lets me take a scene seriously) who has a GEASS that allows him to re-create memories. Suzaku then asks to join the Knights of Round … and does. The Emperor then completely re-fabricates Lulu’s memories. Erasing his mother, Nunnally .. everything …

Honestly, I wanted to stangle Suzaku so much in this scene. He’s being totally irrational! He’s become completely … what … emotionless?! Great, the chances of seeing him crossdress again is virtually slim to none now.

The flashback ends and return to Lulu and C.C. (who says it is not her who gave the emperor the GEASS). Obviously, Nunnally’s location is still unknown, but if she’s still with V.V then they’re both obviously with the emperor right? Yeah. I’m sticking to that theory.

Lulu then realizes that Rollo is NOT his brother. Well, we all knew from the start that they weren’t so that’s not a surprise. I still say the emperor sent him to keep an eye on Lulu. While Lulu ponders Rollo’s identity, there’s short cut to Rollo who bumps into some Britannia soldiers. After that short cut we’re back to Lulu who is conveniently found by a soldier with Knightmare. GEASS! POW! And we’ve got our stolen mech. Yep, I did NOT see that one coming at all.

Cut to the Governor at the Chinese Federation (I think?). The Governor (whose name I can’t remember) decides to go battlefield. We are then graced by Lulu’s strategic abilities and serious first season deja vu.

Bunny Girl Kallen then visites Lulu to SHOOT HIM?! No … to CONFESS! Well no … but it’s close.

Dun! Flash to the Emperor taking Suzaku to some … temple? NO, fuck. It’s a WEAPON? Dude, I’m confused. And it’s really hard to take Wakamoto seriously. I really want to just laugh whenever I hear him. Really. Even you wouldn’t take him seriously after listening to Oyasumi de Hitsuji.

Back to Lulu and Kallen. Kallen asks Lulu if he used the Geass to play with her heart and he replies that he didn’t. Kallen believes him but tells him that the one she believes is Zero not Lelouch. Wow. Problems much? Lulu indifferently replies and then makes Kallen realize she’s STILL in a bunny suit. Really, how can you NOT realize you’re wearing that? And Kallen … keeping you Shiki’s key between your boobs is NOT safe (yep, I said this already but I say it again because it bothers me)

Random cut to the Ashford students and back to Britannia who brought in reinforcements but Lulu’s already sure he’s won. What is he going to do? I already guessed.

And like how Suzaku came out of nowhere in the Lancelot in season 1, there’s is, once again, another irregular (in a suit that fucking TELEPORTS!)

You know … I think I must be a REAL idiot to not have realized who it was sooner. But okay … I can mistakes sometimes too.

So, Lulu starts panicking a bit but Urabe and Kallen defend him. In other to gain time for Lulu’s escape plan, Urabe acts a diversion and is sacrificed.

BOOM! Yep, I was right. Lulu’s explodes the building (which at the same time kills the governor). Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

*inserts Lulu’s manic laugh* -gigglesnort-

That guy with the ponytail and glasses (the one who was always with Cornelia) temporarily takes command and Lulu broadcasts a message on the media. (I’m guessing C.C had his outfit) Britannia is surprised. Suzaku is surprised. The population is surprised and Diethard is happy.

Flash to the Knights of Round (who are watching Lulu’s message) Suzaku is more or less indifferent. Fuck him. It’s going to take a while before I start liking Suzaku again … I’ve lost complete hope in him, honestly.

Lulu then announces the formation of the United States of Japan (Eclipse subs). Now, I wonder where he got that name. And really, a country with one room? That must be the SMALLEST country on Earth.

YAY! Midorikawa talks. (I can’t remember his character’s name)

Oh my God … ROLLO?!

IT WAS ROLLO?!

I’m disappointed in myself for not realizing sooner, really. But damn he’s GOT SKILLS! And a fucking GEASS. Way to end an episode Sunrise! You and your fucking cliffhangers. I demand next sunday NAO!

I believe every character has now been introduced with Nunnally aside. Well, they didn’t all speak but we got the cameos. On the second episode, the quality is still upheld. The animation is flawless and I still love the music. The OP and ED has now officially grown on me as well. I must say that the pacing of this episode was real awesome too … despite the many similarities to season one. Sunrise, mind trying something new? Or maybe they’re afraid of fucking up.

Next Episode Preview:

Back in Ashford so I’m expecting SOME light-hearted moments. From the preview, it seems like were going to focus on Rollo’s identity.

Code Geass R2 – 01

After months of waiting its finally here! R2! I was kind of afraid that it wouldn’t live up to the first series … but, if it continues this way, my worries would be useless. Why? Well, the first episode ROCKED! My only complaint … the entire episode was practically an exact replica of the first episode of the first season, with minor differences of course and that kind-faced Lulu was so damn short-lived. Then again, I don’t think anyone but me is complaining about kind-faced Lulu. –

About TOP BL-RELATED THINGS

I was kind of at a loss of what to put (aside the ABOUT ME crap) but I finally decided on my TOP BL-RELATED THINGS. Damn, that was NO easy task. I could’ve gone up my Top 100 crap but that’d take too long so I decided on a mere 20. My Top 20 wasn’t in any particular order either. I tried, of course, to put some priority of my real favs but some are really just scattered.

Anyways! Onto it!

1. Matt (Mail Jeevas) from Death Note

I love Matt. I loved him even before I actually saw him in Death Note. Fucked, I know. But it’s true. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mello, Near and L all the same but Matt definitely takes the cake. He’s also one of the only characters I prefer in both Seme and Uke roles. Either way, I really don’t mind.

Everything about Matt is just yummy. His looks. His goggles. His hair. His clothes. His personality. His gaming obsession. His manner of talking and his damn cigs. Matt, I don’t care if you’re 3rd at Whammy’s you’re NUMBER ONE in my book! ❤

2. Lulu (Lelouch Lamperouge) from CODE GEASS

Lelouch vi Britannia, the exiled prince, the genius who wants to change the world to create a better world for his sister, Nunnally. Admirable? Very. How can a girl not understand the appeal that is Lelouch? He’s extremely smart, he’s attractive and a bit a naive when it comes to ‘other’ things. He isn’t at all the stoic type and is actually quite sentimental. Dude, he cares. If he didn’t why would he sacrifice his own sanity for his sister? And, unlike another certain geninus *points at Raito* Lulu has and accepts his faults. Honestly, Lulu’s little faults can make him extremely cute. This side of him isn’t much explored in the anime but you can notice it in the Sound Stories and Picture Books.

3. Usagi x Misaki from Junjo Romantica

a.k.a Usami Akihiko and Takahashi Misaki from the manga/BLCD (and soon anime) Junjo Romantica! These two are my all-time favorite couple. With good reason! Let’s start with the Seme, Usagi-sensei. At first glance looks like your typical cool, rich, composed seme but really he’s more than that. For one, he has the STRANGEST hobbies … namely collecting toys (that pile up in his crazy room). Like all semes of Usa-sensei’s type, he is pretty protective of his Uke, Misaki and tends to harass him more than is healthy. Har har. Misaki, voiced by my fav. seiyuu Sakurai-sama, is one of the best ukes I’ve ever known. It’s impossible NOT to enjoy his sudden epiphanies. Man do I love his thought pattern. Misaki has a pretty tsundere character and shies away a lot. In the 7 Junjo Romantica CDs I have listened to, I have yet to hear Misaki say “Suki!” to Usami. Sure, he comes REAL close to it in the 7th CD but he still doesn’t say it. The event itself moved the poor uke to tears.

4. Sakurai Takahiro-sama (seiyuu)

He’s probably my most favorite seiyuu out there. The first I heard his voice was either in his role as Cloud or in his role a Guiche (Zero no Tsukaima). Actually, I only JUST learned that Guiche was done by Sakupyon. I NEVER KNEW! When I watched Znt I didn’t know anything ’bout Seiyuus so … I never realized. Moving on, the role that made me into a big fan of his was probably Misaki from Junjo Romantica. Somehow, I didn’t realize it was the same voice he used for Yuuri in KKM! Hell, I only realized AFTER listening to Misaki and because of that … I started liking Yuuri too! I didn’t like Yuuri at first, that’s why. Sakurai is also one of the seiyuus I like in both Seme and Uke roles.

I didn’t write in Suzumaru Kenichi in my TOP LIST but I really wanted to. I especially love any and ALL interaction betwen SuzuKen and Sakupyon (Only the Ring Finger Knows, Oi! Tanaka-kun, …) the two just fit each other so well. And damn do I enjoy freetalks they have together! The Oi! Tanaka-kun freetalk CD in particular!

I also absolutely LOVE his singing voice! My fav songs of him being “DAY BREAK” “Eien no Ai wa Kizamareru” “I Wish” and “Taiyou to Tsuki o Daite” …

5. Oi! Tanaka-kun series (BLCD)

Tadan~~ SemexSeme … Seme ekuaru tsukkomi dakara Oi! That was SuzuKen quote from the Freetalk CD of the first Drama ~Juuban Shoubu~ Apparently they wanted to make a semexseme drama and since Seme=Tsukkomi that makes Oi! You probably don’t get the joke but that’s alright.

Tanaka-kun is definitely my favorite series out there. The drama just left a really huge impression on me. I believe I wrote I review of it somewhere in this fucked blog so I won’t repeat what I liked about it.

6. Kamiya Hiroshi (Seiyuu)

ZETSUBO SHITAA!! Omae … kiken na sonzai da … Recognize the lines? Prolly not and you prolly don’t care BUT I’ll say it anyway. The first is Itoshiki-sensei’s signature line (Sayonnara Zetsubo Sensei) and the second a line Tieria Erde (Gundam 00) tells Set-chan. Anyways, Kamiyan is my top seiyuu … prolly equal to Sakupyon or just slightly behind. His aegi koe and nose-bleed material moans in Shinayakana Netsujo put him on my radar and damn … the dot it never leaving. I have yet to listen to any of his seme roles so I can’t review on that but I have to say his uke voice is just WAAAH! I love the guy. Really.

7. Fukuyama Jun (seiyuu)

ANOTHER SEIYUU! Waaaai ~ FukuJun! I’ve loved the guy since his CODE GEASS role as Lulu! But strangely enough, what put him on the map for me was his Natsu role in Wagamama Dakedo Itoshikute. Meaning, the fact that his voice had such a range surprised me. A good kind of surprise tho! He is also a seiyuu I don’t mind in both seme and uke roles but I honestly prefer his uke roles. He has a damn cute voice!

8. DEADLOCK (BLCD)

I already wrote about how beautiful this drama is. I won’t start again. Yuutan-sama 4tw! Cheers to more DEADLOCK later this month! Check my previous posts for all about DEADLOCK! (Yeah I’m getting tired)

9. Shimono Hiro (Seiyuu)

-glomps- Shimono-san is special because I’ve loved him since the FIRST role I heard him in. In other words, since I listened to Bitter Valentine. His totally kawaii moaning did it in for me. I can’t RESIST his type of voice. As long as I don’t listen to too much of him at once, I’ll never start hating him. Besides, he has the CUTEST laugh I’ve ever heard (from Honey Special Disk)! He’s just really adorable. A definite uke! But it was fun to hear him seme someone in Love Neko (which I’ll talk about later on)! -glomps again- He wins the “cutest voice” award. His role in Wagamama and Honey are my favorites!

10. Only the Ring Finger knows

The first ever BL manga I bought. Y’see, there’s a lack of places in Montreal where you can buy actual Yaoi manga (I know of one but I’ve never actually went myself). Anyways, I say Manga because I haven’t read the novels yet … but I did listen to the Dramas! Wataru and Kazuki are just … so adorable together! Their relationship is so utterly NORMAL that you feel you can really relate to them. Ring Finger is like a normal romance shojo manga … the only difference is that their both guys! There isn’t much of the typical YAOI stereotypes in Ring Finger and I’m guessing that’s why its so popular. Angst, which is like signature to Yaoi, is like … non-existent in Ring Finger. No rape, no abusive parents or anything. Just the norm. Really, the fact that Ring Finger is so damn ordinary is what takes it apart. SakuxSuzu for Kazuki and Wataru also adds to how much I love this series!

Black and White

It’s a long-weekend again. Thank God.

Luckily for me, aside from school, life’s been more or less normal. There are the occasional family small problems but its become practically an everyday thing so I’m getting used to it. It’s not a good thing to get used to, sure. But really, it’s nothing new anymore. My moral goes down a lot during those times but hell, I’m human too.

I haven’t been able to write anything properly lately. My steam seems to have to run out but this happens now and then … I’ll get back on track soon. I still got about two months before I have to finish my second draft so I can still take it easy.

On the bright side, I finally got a new iPod! I was supposed to get an 8GB Nano but the 80GB classic was on sale so my Dad bought it for me (well, I did pay more than a 1/3 of it tho’). It’s so new an shiny! @_@

I’ve been toying around until late last night. Converting my anime into mp4 format takes longer than I thought … but I did manage to get some Koutetsu Sangokushi, Shigofumi, Ghost Hound episodes in it. I’m planning on getting the entire Code Geass series in it soon too … since I plan on re-watching it one last time before R2.

Speaking of CG, I’ve been quite a CG freak lately. I’m really overly excited for r2 that it’s unhealthy. The only thing I have yet to devour is the manga (and the light novels, but I can’t read kanji or kana soo …) which I plan to after re-watching the anime one more time. Lulu has definitely gone up in my list of favorite male anime characters. His probably already in 2nd place (after Matt)! Tomoya’s in third and Ryuichi soon following.

In the Drama CD department, I’m desperately trying to listen to non-BLCDs. I’ve found a few I’m interested in listening to (namely Dogs and the Saiunkoku Monogatari dramas). I’ve already got Dogs in my iPod but I haven’t finished it yet. I’ve only listened to Badou’s story so far (I skipped Mihai’s)

I did listen to Ahomo: Mossore tho’ and damn that was one hell of a funny drama! It wasn’t BL, per say but it was slash (and one of the main characters was homo). I also got the 2nd CD of Only the Ring Finger knows but I haven’t gotten any further than the first track yet. My list of things to listen and watch has definitely increased to a point where I don’t know what to do anymore. Things will get worst when all the spring anime start airing and I really do go nuts so I have to shorten the list before then.

Last bit of news, it’s my birthday in about 15 days! That’s something to look forward too, thank God! Actually, I’m going to ask my brother if he can bring me to Marché Clandestin and pay for some manga/novel I want (namely Junjo Romantica and Only the Ring Finger knows)  … (well, I kind of want FAKE, too) The most important is definitely at least one volume of Junjo and the first novel of Ring Finger. If he’s willing to pay for more, I might get Gravitation EX and the second volume of Junjo.

Honestly though, I just really need $$ for my b-day. All my money went to my iPod so I’m broke. Its times like this I wish I was old enough to have a job. *mutters* Just one more year! (I’m turning 15)

Call this my way of celebrating the fact that R2 is airing soon.

I was re-watching Code Geass to put make me remember everything again and I felt like writing this after the seeing the last episode again. Damn. I saw it once but it still ‘shocked’ me when I watched it again.

Lulu and Suzaku facing off like that … the gunshot … C.C’s words at the end.

The first time I watched it, I had originally thought they wanted to imply Lulu’s death but that, of course, can’t be. There’s a second season after all!

There is a HUGE possibility that Lulu’s probably forgot about many and/or all the events of the first season. I was kind of hoping that wouldn’t happen but it seems almost 100% sure now. -cries- It’d explain why Zero’s gone missing and what FukuJun meant by “Lelouch is back where he started… in a lot of ways.”

Anyways, that rumor is what made the ending to the poem. I wonder if what caused his memory loss was the explosion from the sakuradite or maybe C.C did something.

Speaking of Sakuradite, how the hell could Suzaku, Kallen and Lulu escape it alive?! Unless it didn’t explode at all … man, the tension is killing me.

R2 takes ONE WHOLE YEAR after the events of the first season. One hell of a lot of crap must’ve happened in that year. Like where the hell did Rollo pop out from and why did he have to replace Rival and become the motorcycle guy? I liked Rival. -cries-

ANDOH! Lulu has longer hair. Even if it’s only just a little, it sure makes him cute. He looks like such a good guy now! Which is even more proof to the fact that he might’ve lost his memory. (yeah, I’m still complaining)

Anyways, I don’t want to make myself even more excited for R2 than I am already so I’ll stop here.
