Cake is serious business!
Is it me, or did Antique just get ten times funnier? Well, after this, I think you can expect faster blog posts. I’m finally really enjoying this anime.
So what did episode five and six bring? Luckily, against my predictions, episode five had the Antique cast participating in a Department Cake Fair to promote their stores. Halfway through the episode, Tachibana gets some eye infection or something and can’t waiter for the fair. In his place, Chikage had to waiter. Yuu-chan is completely useless with women and Chikage’s well … Chikage. After a magic makeover, everything works out for the gang.
Every episode of Antique features Cakes and Chikage’s crying. I don’t think there’s been a single episode he’s been in that he hasn’t cried.
These scenes are catching me off-guard anymore. I’m sincerely “awww”-ing at them now.
Eiji’s been getting a little more screentime. Thank goodness because I absolutely love this guy. Another thing, is that they’re finally properly using tsukkomis in Antique. They were never all that funny before.
Look what Kogarashi brought in! (seriously, that’s how Eiji said it)
If English becomes Engrish, then what does French become? The irony is that Tachibana’s french accent is better than Jean’s … who, by the way, is voiced by Hanada Hikaru (Usami Akihiko).(EDIT: Yeah, crap, I made a mistake. It’s Inoue Kazuhiko (Yuki Eiri, Kakashi, Miyagi You, Nyanko-sensei) voicing Jean. Thanks ponytale for the correction. I feel like crap now. -shame-)
I laughed so hard at the generic French name.
“Marry me Ono!”
The hypocrites always hate each other. -rolls eyes- (I love how Chikage’s always the dumbfounded one in the background)
I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised I’m not surprised …
The best scene in these two episodes had to be this one. The one where everyone’s panicking over Ono leaving. Eiji panicks the quickest, Chikage is a little slow and Tachibana pretends to be cool but still calls his mother soon after.
“IF I WERE TO SLEEP WITH YOU, WOULD YOU STAY AT MY STORE?!”
Okay, maybe this was the best scene.

Foreigners are always fun. The French probably more entertaining than the Engrish. -rolls eyes- Antique totally leveled up in episode six. It’s the funniest I’ve watched so far. If every episode was as entertaining as this, I’d have more fun blogging this anime.
I love this show! I watch it for the cake service ^^
But I haven’t seen episode 6 yet… 😦
^^ glad u haven’t given up XD btw Jean was voiced by Inoue Kazuhiko.
