It’s finally here! The big Fall 2008 season lineup! It wins as my longest post ever in the history of Death by Moe with it’s big 5k+ words.
This post took hours and hours out of me. There’s one hell of a beautiful lineup this season that it makes me sad I won’t be able to get through all of it. Oh sure, there’s some crap in there but most of the shows are interesting me in one way or another.
As I said in one post or another, I’m going to probably only have time to blog anime this upcoming season what with school being 17-16 days away. There’s a lot I’m interested in blogging but I unfortunately don’t have the time or will to swamp myself with that much work. I never had a method to blogging or anything. I just wrote entries as I felt like them. But since this season looks as interesting (if not more) last Spring I’ll probably resurrect my Season Preview posts.
You’ll find nearly all the series airing in either September, October or November in this least. I left out some anime because they didn’t look interesting or because I didn’t want to pack this post that much (so I say, but this post is the longest I’ve ever done). I also left out many sequels because I haven’t watched the first season. There are some that I left in though for the sake of people who are interested in them. I also left out most OVA/OADs except for a select few.
Here’s a more condensed version of the Fall Lineup: Clicky.
(Note: I will try and update this post whenever new information is found)

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann: Guren-hen (Movie) – September 6th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (Trailer) (Another Trailer)
Information: The movie will be a compilation of the events of the first arc of the series (episodes one through fifteen) with some newly animated scenes. (from wikipedia)
Summary: In their closed-off underground village, Kamina and Simon chafe at the limits imposed by the village elder. Yet all this will change, when Simon stumbles across a fantastic device – just as the village’s peace is broken by a violent intrusion. (from ANN)
TTGL’s movie needs no introduction. I know I’m going to have to wait until the DVD comes out and someone subs before I can watch it but I decided to put it on the list anyway. It’s coming out on the Fall Season after all, might as well add it in. I’m going to review this as soon as I’m able to get my hands on it. (A long, long while)
Blog/Watch Factor: Duh.
–
Battle Spirits Shounen Toppa Bashin – September 7th
Summary: [none at the moment]
Card game anime? I’ll admit I liked Yugioh! way back then (when I was like eight and thought it was coolest shit ever) but … no thank you.
Blog/Watch Factor: Definitely Not watching, definitely not blogging.
–
Lucky☆Star (OVA) – September 26th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: Lucky Star’s story portrays the lives of several girls attending a Japanese high school named Ryōō with a very loose sense of humor. […] The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move on to their second and third years. However, the anime starts the story with them beginning their second year. The storyline usually includes numerous references to popular past and present manga and anime series. (from Wikipedia, slightly edited)
Lucky Star needs no introduction either. That’s what the above links are anyway. I loved the series despite its first episode being mostly about food. Anime doesn’t get any more moe than this! Or does it? I don’t know, I’m being quite biased right now. Well, for one thing, Lucky Star is high up on my moe list and that’s saying something because most of what’s on my moe list are ukes. I’m ready for Hatsune MikuKagami + Leek!
Blog/Watch Factor: Watching, raping, blogging. Everything.

Hakushaku to Yousei -September 28th
(Official Site) (ANN) (LQ PV) (PV)
Summary: The story is set in 19th century England and centers on a “fairy doctor” named Lydia. Her life takes a 180-degrees turn when she meets a legendary blue knight count named Edgar and his crew. He hires her as an adviser during his quest to obtain a treasured sword that was supposed to be handed down to him by his family. (from ANN)
I’m lacking in reasons NOT to watch this anime. First of all, I love these old English settings. Second, the animation and character designs are absolutely beautiful. Third (and most important), cast cast cast! You’ll see this show up a lot in my lineup posts. Cast is probably number one factor to influence me to watch an anime. In Hakushaku you’ve got Midorikawa Hikaru, Nana Mizuki, Sugita Tomokazu, Koyasu Takehito AND Kamiya Hiroshi. With a cast like that, there’s absolutely NO CHANCE I won’t be watching this anime.
PV NOTES: I can’t find a better one, but I’ll update it as soon as I get a hold of a better video. Maybe it’s just the trailer, but the character designs are beautiful. I’ve got bishies to drool over now. Sweet.
(Artland, the animation company, will also be animating another Fall anime “Tytania“)
Blog/Watch factor: I definitely want to blog this. But if I don’t, Fuyu definitely is.
–
Toradora! – October 1st
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: Toradora!’s story begins with the male protagonist Ryūji Takasu who is frustrated at trying to look his best as he enters his second year of high school. Despite his gentle personality, his eyes make him look like an intimidating delinquent. […] Ryūji goes to school and is happy to find that he gets to be in the same class as his best friend Yūsaku Kitamura and crush Minori Kushieda. However, it is then that he unexpectedly knocks into “the school’s most dangerous animal of the highest risk level” — Taiga Aisaka — who just happens to also be in his class, and is a good friend of Minori. (from Wikipedia, slightly edited)
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this so I’m definitely interested. It’s not a priority of mine but I’ll definitely watch it if I have some spare time. Kugimiya Rie‘s voicing Taiga in this by the way. It’s another light-novel adaptation that J.C.Staff with animate.
Blog/Watch factor: Might watch. Not blogging.
–
Hyakko – October 1st
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: The story follows the antics of four high school freshman girls, after they enroll into a huge private academy that teaches every grade from elementary school to high school. (from ANN news)
Somehow, I’m more interested in this than Today in Class 5-2 … it’s probably Aya Hirano’s fault. If the first episode is funny enough, I’m in.
Blog/Watch Factor: Must be funny enough. Not Blogging.
–
CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~ – October 2nd
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (Trailer)
Summary: Continuation of the first season.
The After-Story is the second arc of CLANNAD. By now, I think most know that it’s going to solve the questions about the Illusionary World and going to focus on Nagisa’s and Tomoya’s relationship. If you’re reading this and haven’t seen the first season, you better go watch it soon. I’m looking forward to this as much as anyone else out there. Hopefully, I’ll be able to play through the After Story (I’m in Kyou’s arc at the moment) before the anime comes out. And ever since the OVA, I’ve been fully converted into a Tomoya x Nagisa fan so my excitement has increased ten fold.
Blog/Watch Factor: Most definitely watching. Really high chances of being blogged.
–
Kuro Shitsuji – October 2nd
(Official Site) (ANN) (MAL) (Trailer)
Summary: Yana Toboso draws the original Kuroshitsuji manga about Sebastian Michaels, an impeccable butler who can carry out practically any task his master requires of him — partly because he is a demon. His current master is Ciel, the Phantomhive family head who is smart, business-savvy, and all of 12 years old. (from ANN/MAL)
What?! A-1 again!? You sadden me A-1 … I’m definitely going to sue if I don’t see Oofuri show up in 2009. Well, for the sake of it all, I ran off to OneManga to read the first chapter of this and I’m definitely interested. It’s not slapstick comedy but it’s still pretty funny. It’s kinda like Hayate no Gotoku in an English setting with bishies instead of Hayate and Nagi. Meaning less crack, more elegant bishieness. Hmmm, I’m not complaining. Bishie number one, the butler, Sebastian -rolls eyes at generic name- is going to be voiced by Ono Daisuke and the cute bishies number two, the master, Ciel is going to be voiced by Sakamoto Maaya. Even without the “English setting+bishiebutler” I would’ve watched this for the sake of OnoD and Sakamoto Maaya.
PV NOTES: There’s really nothing special to the trailer unfortunately. You do get to hear Ono’s and Sakamoto’s voice though … and that’s about it aside some bits of animation. At least the voice acting is beautiful.
Blog/Watch Factor: Watching. Mild chances of being blogged.
–
Yozakura Shijuusou ~Yozakura Quartet~ – October 2nd
(Official Site) (ANN) (Baka-Updates Manga)
Summary: Hime is a superheroine. Ao can read minds. Kotoha can conjure up anything with the right word. And Akina…well, he’s just a regular guy, surrounded by three supergirls! Together, they protect the town of Sakurashin. But that’s not easy, as the town faces demon dogs and other supernatural threats! (from Del-Rey Manga)
This is just the time of stories I enjoy. I’d love if I could find scans of this since I highly doubt any of the bookstores here sell the manga. I can’t seem to find much information on this series but I’m definitely interested. If the cast is neat, I won’t be missing it.
Seiyuu Edit: Holy crap, Kaji Yuuki and Ono Daisuke‘s in this! I’ve been wanting to hear Kaji’s voice again since his role in Kotoba nante Iranai (BLCD) … the similarity between his and Shimo-chan’s voice is uncanny. OnoD needs no explanation.
Manga Edit: I managed to pass by Chapters and, to my surprise, found the manga there. I read the first chapter and my interest just multiplied by miles.
Blog/Watch Factor: Will watch. Mild Chances of being blogged.
–
Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka – October 2nd
Summary: The story centers around a boy named Jun-ichi Nagase at a prestigious academy, and a female transfer student named Yuuhi Katagiri — who just happens to be Jun-ichi’s fiancée, as arranged by his family. (from ANN)
I’ve seen this a thousand times already and I’m not sure I want to go through another one. But seeing Aya Hirano‘s, Kugimiya Rie‘s AND Hatano Wataru‘s name in the cast is well .. tempting me.
Blog/Watch factor: … -resists temptation-
–
Kurogane no Linebarrel – October 3rd
(Official Site) (Baka-Updates Manga)
Summary: Fourteen-year-old Kouichi Hayase’s life has always been a mediocre one, if not dismal. However, those days of being bullied by classmates and escaping to a fantasy of being a hero are put to an end when a certain “accident” bestows on him a girl and a gigantic humanoid robot called “LINEBARREL”. The extraordinary power that Kouichi obtains puts him and everything around him on a sudden rollercoaster ride of battles, intrigues and friendship! During the course of his adventure, the boy starts to learn what life has to offer; he meets new friends, bids farewell to the old ones, but most of all he now has considerable responsibilities and is forced to confront the world around him. (from official site)
You know what’s awesome about this? Well, first of all, there’s Tetsuya Kakihara, Fukuyama Jun AND Nakamura Yuuichi in the cast. When I saw that, I was ready to give this anime at least five episodes. But what really had me surprised was the fact that the official site has an english page! Moreover, it’s good english, not crappy engrish! Just read the summary, it actually makes sense!
Blog/Watch Factor: Might Watch. Not Blogging.

Tales of the Abyss – October 3rd
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (PV)
Summary: […] the year is ND 2017. Luke fon Fabre, the son of Duke Fabre of the Kimlasca Kingdom, is 17 years old. He is the Light of the Sacred Flame who is destined to bring prosperity to Kimlasca. But since being kidnapped seven years ago by the Malkuth empire, he has been kept confined to the Fabre family mansion. The shock of the kidnapping erased all of Luke’s memories prior to the event. But one fateful day, a mysterious woman breaks into the mansion and sets off a chain of events that will change the world forever. (from Wikipedia, game page)
I never played the original Tales of the Abyss game but I did get my dose of Luke from Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology. Well, I still have never had a good experience with Games turned Anime .Hack series aside. I may be still watching World Destruction but that’s purely because of Mamo-chan‘s presence. But, okay, I’ll give Tales of the Abyss a try anyway. Besides, it might be fun for all I know with Sunrise on the job. I don’t know the Director but the scriptwriter is the same person who did Kyo Kara Maoh!, Gundam SEED Destiny and Gundam Wing. I’m going to pray for homosexual innuendos like the fujoshi I truly am.
Blog/Watch Factor: Will give a try. Probably not blogging
–
Shikabane-hime Aka – October 4th
Summary: She is an immortal. Shikabane Hime has has made a deal with Buddhist monk, Keisei. In order to finally reach Heaven, she must “kill” 108 corpses. (from ANN, manga)
It’s GAINAX‘s new project … and that’s the only reason I know about this anime. -gets shot- I’m not particularly interested but I’ll probably watch the first few episodes anyway.
Blog/Watch Factor: Might Watch. Not Blogging.
–
To Aru Majutsu no Index – October 4th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: In a world where science clarifies supernatural powers. In a huge college that has power development in its curriculum. To a resident high school student, Kamijou Touma, a pure white sister appears. She calls herself “Index” and says that sorcerers are chasing her. Thus, Kamijou Touma enters the world of the occult.
This is based off a light-novel and is going to be animated by J.C.Staff. It isn’t standing out to me in any way so I’ll probably pass.
Blog/Watch Factor: Pass.
–
Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae – October 4th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: Somewhere in the vast sea of the Internet, there’s a website that can only be accessed at the stroke of midnight. Known as the Jigoku Tsushin, rumor has it that if you post a grudge there, the Jigoku Shoujo will appear and drag whoever torments you into the inferno. Very little is known about the girl – all we know for sure is that she lives with her equally enigmatic grandmother, that three magical straw dolls accompany and serve her, and that whenever a posting on the Jigoku Tsushin moves her, she becomes the Jigoku Shoujo. (from first season, ANN. I don’t expect the 3rd season be any different =/)
I gave up on the first season after three episode. Didn’t even bother with the second and now there’s a third. Was there even a point to this anime aside sending people to hell after helping with their revenge? How the hell did three seasons happen? I’m baffled. Well, obviously, I shake my head to this. Okay, so a friend just told me there’s an actual story to this series. Or at least that the second season is better than the first. Well, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try this if I get around to watch the second season.
Blog/Watch factor: Not watching. Not blogging.Might watch, but I’m not blogging.
–
Kannagi – October 4th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (Trailer)
Summary: I can’t find one anywhere. I’ll updated this spot once I found one.
A-1 pictures? Crap, no Oofuri this season either. But! -points at cast- There’s Shimo-chan in a leading role! Yay! That in itself is enough to get to watch this.
Blog/Watch Factor: Will watch for the sake of Shimo-chan. Not blogging.
–
Gundam 00 2nd Season – October 5th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (Trailer 02)
Summary: 2312 A.D. Four years have passed since the final battle between Celestial Being and the UN Forces. Humanity, after having established the Earth Sphere Federation, forms an independent security force, Arrows, separate from the formal Federation army to further unify nations and the will of mankind. But the reality is the inhumane oppression of anti-government powers, doctrines, and ideologies in the name of unity. Setsuna F. Seiei, after surviving the battle four years ago, has decided to once again fight with his Gundam. (from ANN)
Seriously? Already? I didn’t even feel like that long since the first season ended and we get the second season so soon? Wow! What do you want me to say? I’m looking forward to this. Yes, Gundam 00 is as insane and stupidnon-sensical as Geass … but at least Gundam 00 embraces its insanity. Any CM with a man proposing to another, meido, zombies and “I AM GUNDAM” is a win in my book. And you know no one but Sunrise can produce such idiocy. Yes, that company has scarred/broken/raped – whatever rocks your boat – me to the point of no return and I don’t give a damn. Give my homosexual innuendos now! (And while this has nothing to do with anything, I’m cosplaying Set-chan in October for Halloween. I’ve always wanted to run around shouting “I AM GUNDAM”)
Blog/Watch factor: Definitely watching. High chances of being blogged (I like blogging insanity)
–
Skip Beat! – October 5th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Skip Beat! is probably in my top three favorite shojo series. It’s hard to hate grudge demons and anything about this series that has such a anti-shoujo shujinko. ANN made a mistake about the cast but it was all cleared up. We’ve got Marina Inoue doing Kyoko and Miyano Mamoru doing Sho. I’m sort of glad it didn’t end up being Sakurai voicing Sho since I’m getting tired of hearing him do the assholes. And plus, Mamo-chan‘s a great singer. I dislike (I said dislike not hate) Sho but I don’t hate Mamo-chan’s singing, ’nuff said. I am sad that Koyasu might not be Ren though … since I know he’d do a perfect job! Of course, this means I can still pray Suwabe will voice Ren. -crosses fingers- I’m really hoping for that.
Blog/Watch Factor: Watching without fail. High chances of being blogged.
–
Today in Class 5-2 – October 5th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: An ecchi, school-life comedy show about Ryota Satou and his hilarious events and, often perverted, situations that he goes through and ends up in. (from ANN, OVA)
Slice-of-life school comedy? I might give this a try.
Blog/Watch Factor: Might watch. Not blogging.
–
Macademi Wasshoi! – October 5th
Summary: light novels about a magical academy student who accidentally conjures a girl with enough power to destroy his country. (from ANN)
I’m not expecting anything out of this. Not my cup of tea either. Pass.
Blog/Watch Factor: Pass.
–
Ga-Rei -zero- – October 5th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: Life is slightly depressing and normal for high-schooler Kensuke Nimura – except that he can see ghosts. This ability generally hinders him more than it helps him, until he encounters Kagura Tsuchimiya while being pursued by evil spirits. They accidentally kiss and fight off the spirits together. The next day, she transfers into his class. Kagura is an agent of a government agency that defends the public against supernatural enemies. She wields a Ga-rei, a spirit beast that kills these spirits. Kensuke’s spiritual awareness and his attraction to Kagura forces him to follow her to the agency, where he is recruited to fight the supernatural. (from wikipedia)
Eh, this isn’t really standing out to be particularly. Pass.
Blog/Watch factor: Pass.

Vampire Knight Guilty – October 6th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (Trailer)
Summary: Yuki’s earliest memory is of a stormy night in winter, wherein she was attacked by a vampire… And then rescued by another. Now 10 years later, Yuki Cross, the adopted daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy, has grown up and become a guardian of the vampire race, protecting her savior, Kaname, from discovery as he leads a group of vampires at the elite boarding school. But also at her side is Zero Kiryu, a childhood friend who’s hatred for the creatures that destroyed everything he held dear, is now determined never to trust them. This coexisting arrangement seems all well and good, but have the vampires truly renounced their murderous ways, or is there a darker truth behind their actions. Is Kaname’s infatuation with Yuki the beginning of a forbidden romance, or is it something in her forgotten past that draws him to her. Because in this world of secrets, nothing is as it seems. And the price of misplaced trust may even be worse than death. (from first season ANN … Guilty is just the continuation)
Aidou is tempting me with his pretty eyes. Actually, they’re all tempting me with their pretty eyes. Damned cursed vampires! I gave up on the first season after eight episode. Sorry, but I couldn’t take Zero’s angst. Which is saying something considering how I normally like angst. And its also saying something because I now dislike Zero quite a bit. When I used to read the manga, I was a total Zero-fan. The anime comes and I’m converted to liking Kaname. Oh and Yuki can just go to hell. It’s probably the anime, but I came to dislike her too. Hmm, was I always this bitter a person?
Blog/Watch factor: Not watching unless a snake eats an elephant. Not blogging either.

ef – a tale of melodies – October 6th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Information: Second series to “Ef – a tale of memories -” from the trailer it looks like it’ll focus on Yuko’s and Mizuki’s story.
I loved the first series. Ef – a tale of memories – remains to be one of the most beautiful anime I have ever watched. I’m definitely looking forward to this series.
Blog/Wath factor: Definitely watching. Mild chances of being blogged.
–
Stitch! – October 8th
Information: The show is to feature a Japanese girl named HanakoYuna in place of Lilo, and will be set on a fictional island off the shore of Okinawa instead of Hawaii. To date, few details have been released. The final appearance of Hanako Yuna has yet to be decided upon though press reports have quoted officials as saying that she will be “very Japanese”. It is to be animated and co-produced by the Japanese animation house Madhouse LTD. (taken from Wikipedia and slightly edited)
No wait what!? S-stitch? What’s he doing in anime! Well, there’s nil chance of me watching this but I’ll probably check out the first episode just for LULZ.
Blog/Watch factor: Not blogging. Will check out first episode for LULZ.
–
Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter – October 9th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: Continuation of the first series. (I guess?)
One of the many sequels this season. I haven’t gotten around to watching the first season but since I heard nothing but good about it I might check it out before this airs. I don’t know much about this series aside it has music involved … and that’s the obvious so I’m basically clueless about Nodame.
Blog/Watch factor: Might watch. Not blogging.
–
Tytania – October 9th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Information: Tytania is a Japanese novel series written by Yoshiki Tanaka, and an upcoming animatedtelevision series directed by Noboru Ishiguro.[1] The series is a space opera based on a series of three books written by Tanaka between 1988 and 1991 about people who try to liberate the galaxy from the rule of the Tytania-clan and seeks refuge with a rebel force. The series is known in Japan as a novel series has not been concluded yet but the sequel is not published for a long time since 1991. (from wikipedia)
Kishio Daisuke and Yoshino Hiroyuki in a leading role? Banzai! I’m in. -gets shot for being biased- From what I read on ANN, the staff is full of people who worked on anime from the ’80’s and early ’90’s, like Macross, Legend of the Galatic Heroes and other stuff I’ve heard of but wasn’t alive to watch.
Blog/Watch factor: I’ll give it a try but I won’t be blogging it.

Junjou Romantica 2 – October 11th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia)
Summary: Misaki is suddenly having some unexpected and odd problems. What started as a need for some college entrance exam tutoring has somehow led him to being romanced by a suave older man who also happens to be his big brother’s best friend. Confused by all of his brand new emotions, Misaki struggles to deal with his suddenly very odd life. And if that wasn’t enough, his suitor, Usami, has plenty of issues of his own. A man-child who decorates his room in giant teddy bears and toys, Usami is a famous novelist who also writes steamy boys’ love novels on the side. When Misaki cracks open one of these books and reads sentences like “Misaki licks every inch of Usami’s hot body”…well, let’s just say that all hell breaks loose. (from ANN, first season)
Everyone who followed this blog for a while now should know how much I love this series. I’m trying my best not break out in squees to write a proper paragraph. Anyways, looks like Junjo really was taking a break after all. I’m glad fooling myself into think I didn’t care at all about Junjo made a second season get announced. I’m also glad that I’ll be able to see the Haruhiko arc animated and with this, I can bet that the x-mas arc will show up too. Can I also bet that we’ll be able to hear Misaki say the words “Suki desu!” to Usagi? Probably. Of course, I didn’t get up to there in the manga but I know it happens. Oh and that means we’ll get the Sumi arc too. Sweet. Anyone up for Usagi nearly getting uke’d? I know I am. Banzai for more UNMEI DAs! (Wow, no excitement for Hiro-tan and Nowaki in the paragraph … its probably because I can’t remember any more chapters I really squee’d over them … except maybe the “name” chapter)
(And I don’t think I need to remind anyone that this is BL do I?)
Blog/Watch factor: Watching even if the world ends. Blogging 10000%

CHAOS;HEAD – October 14th
(Official Site) (ANN) (Wikipedia) (Trailer)
Summary: […] revolves around a high school student named Takumi Nishijō who unknowingly walks into the scene of a gruesome murder on his way home. More mysterious events starts happening afterwards as more gruesome murders occurs in the area. Takumi struggles to cope with reality and the delusions he experiences as he tries to avoid being getting caught by the perpetrator behind the chain of murders. (from Wikipedia, game)
I’m extremely interested in this anime. I’ve always liked these weird murder/death/mystery type of things. Though, if its scary, I won’t be watching this alone in my room. Haha. Takumi is going to be voiced by Yoshino Hiroyuki so that’s even more reason to watch this.
Blog/Watch Factor: Definitely watching. Might blog if not swamped.

Switch (OVA) – October 24th (OVA 1) ((Second OVA “December 26th”))
Summary: Two newbies at the Narcotic Control Department in Japan, Hal and Kai, struggle against: drug dealers, gangs, murderers, psychopaths, mysterious organizations, and mad people in general. The gentle and caring one of the group, Kai, who has problems of his own, has the tendancy of turning into a lethal killing machine in certain scenarios. The way he acts changes like that of a “switch”. As the two do their job, answers of what is behind Kai’s strange behavior and who exactly he is, is revealed. (from ANN)
I could’ve sworn I read the first chapter of this manga somewhere. I can’t find it anymore though. I do know that I really enjoyed the chapter. It’s gore, blood and all that but extremely realistic. For one, I understand why it’s going to be an OVA. Basically, I was already planning on giving this watch with more or less excitement. But then I walk over to ANN and see a few names: Fukuyama Jun? OMG! Sakurai Takahiro? -goes into cardiac arrest- Suwabe Junichi? YES! YES! YES! Nakai Kazuya‘s just an extra. I never liked him all that much. I don’t remember anything about the manga but I’m praying Sakurai’s character isn’t the asshole-type again. Please, spare him from that again.
Blog/Watch Factor: You dare wonder? Definitely watching and definitely blogging.

Usually, I find myself interested in a lot of things when I do lineups and only end up watching max. six-seven of what I was interested in. After I preview what I’m interested in, I then decide which ones I’ll definitely watch. Since the load is pretty big, I decided bring back the Season Preview posts I did for Spring (like I said higher up). You can check out my Spring Preview posts if you aren’t sure what I’m talking about.
Anyways, the fall season is still pretty far away. Most of the series in this post won’t air until October, which probably heightens the chances of me blogging Hakushaku to Yousei in September.
What I might be blogging:
Hakushaku to Yousei (sunday): 99% chance of being blogged. Since it’s one of the first shows of Fall to air, I’m probably going to end up blogging this whether or not it’s interesting. Though, I highly doubt I won’t be enjoying this show.
Gundam 00 Second Season (sunday): I blogged the first season on previous blog so there’s no chance I’m missing the second season. Yep, I’m here for epic insanity and homosexual innuendos. Bring it on! Blogging chances? 100%
Kuroshitsuji: 80% of being blogged. I enjoy blogging things that don’t make sense the most so Kuroshitsuji doesn’t have much chance of winning here.
Chaos Head (tuesday): 81% of being blogged. A percent more than Kuroshitsuji because there’s violence, murder and mystery involved.
Junjo Romantica 2 (saturday): 1000% of being blogged. Why? Because I’m a fujoshi and I just can’t miss out on this.
Skip Beat (sunday): 95% chances of being blogged. God KNOWS how much I want to blog this. Plus, I’ll have actual content to write since I read the manga of this.
CLANNAD AFTER STORY (thursday): 100% of being blogged. Just because.

My numbers aren’t reliable, I just came up with them on the spot. Anyways, the thing is, what I will blog all depends on how busy I’ll be as well as when the anime will air. I watch Junjo Romantica RAW meaning it’ll be a post every Friday. At most, I can blog two shows per day. If Kuroshitsuji and Chaos Head air on different days, the chances of both them being blogged are high. Hakushaku is “no contest” because it’s airing early.
Things aren’t looking too good with the majority of things I wanna watch airing on Sunday. But since subs almost never show up the day the anime airs, there’s still a good chance of them being blogged. Junjo Romantica and Skip Beat are the only things I’ll watch RAW this season. I might watch CLANNAD RAW as well but the rest I’ll watched subbed.

Ugh. I’m done.
And here’s to the end of the longest post I’ve ever done. Now excuse me while I go I reward myself with well-deserve ice cream.
w00t, epic Fall 2008 post *gives cookies for saimaisama’s hard work* xD
Definitely on my watch list would be: Skip Beat, Hakushaku to Yousei, Switch, Kuroshitsuji, Nodame Cantabile, Ga-Rei and Tytania. Kurogane no Linebarrel is on my must-try, but I’m doubting my ability to sustain watching action mecha shows unless my brother(s) watch it with me. ToraDora, ToAruMajutsu, Tales of the Abyss, and Today in Class 5-2 (wow they’re all T’s!) are on my ‘looks interesting, we’ll see’ list 😛
Fall 2008 is freakin’ awesome!
Whoa…epic Fall 2008 preview. So…much…You really do deserve that ice cream!
Too bad that it reminds me I have to work on my Fall ’08 preview too. There’s too much to talk about for me to be lazy like Spring and go, “Well, I’m just watching these shows…so whatever.”
Right now, my watch list is very similar to yours. Except I’m skipping out on a lot of good sequels because I didn’t watch their first season. I should get to some of that before I get all busy with a job.
But damn straight. I’m totally blogging Hakushaku to Yosei. Even if it’s to simply go, “Nana-sama is in an anime that takes place in the 19th century and Lydia is cute too!!!” every week.
And one last thing…I completely agree about Vampire Knight. Except, you know, I still like Zero. I just stopped watching because I couldn’t take Zero seeming so pathetic.
finally! a season with diversity! i admire your stamina with this rundown!
yes without question – toradora, skip beat, nodame paris-hen, jigoku shoujo, and junjou romantica and lucky star
looks interesting – yozakura shijuusou and hakushaku to yousei
we have the exact same feelings for vampire knight but i stuck to it til the end of season 1. i will not be picking up the second season.
Thank for this very complete review.
I think i’ll watch Hakushaku to Yousei, and continue Junjou, and Nodame Cantabile (the first season is hilarious)
